The outreach team take referrals from health visitors and other professionals to support parents and children in their home. Parents can also request home visiting themselves. The aim of these home visits is to provide advice and guidance and to signpost to services offered at the centre.
The outreach workers are trained Early Years practitioners with additional skills in parenting training, sleep counselling, breastfeeding support and much more.
During the first visit the outreach worker will guide the family/parent through a small self assessment. This will help the outreach worker to identify areas where support may be required and, if necessary, to signpost families to the correct agencies.
We understand that coming to a new group or activity can be quite daunting and outreach workers are happy to support you with accessing our sessions or other services.
